Therapy for Adults Navigating Anxiety, Trauma, and Substance Use .
Direct, collaborative support to help you live with clarity, peace, and purpose.
Let’s Start Here
You’ve been doing your best, but something still feels heavy. Maybe it’s anxiety that won’t quiet down, a relationship that leaves you drained, or emotions that feel too big to manage. Perhaps you’ve noticed patterns with alcohol or substances that you’re ready to look at more honestly. You might not know where to start—you just know you want to feel happier, calmer, and more like yourself. Therapy with me is about helping you uncover what’s holding you back so you can step into a life that feels steadier and more fulfilling.
What would you say to someone who’s nervous or unsure about starting therapy?
Hi, I’m Erica Bohac and I’m a therapist at Tides Mental Health. If you’re nervous about starting therapy, that’s completely normal. You are in charge of your experience—you get to decide what feels comfortable, what pace we go, and how you want to use our time together. My role is to offer a supportive, judgment-free space where you can just be yourself. Finding the right fit matters, and I’ll always encourage you to share what’s working and what isn’t, so we can make this truly helpful for you.

What It’s Like to Work Together
In sessions with me, you’ll find a mix of warmth, directness, and collaboration. I believe therapy should give you both insight and practical tools. Together, we’ll slow down and look at your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors—what’s helping and what’s keeping you stuck. I often use mindfulness, grounding techniques, and tools for distress tolerance and emotional regulation. You’ll leave sessions with clarity and steps you can practice in daily life, always balanced with compassion and acceptance for where you are right now.
What can clients expect it to feel like in a session with you?
In sessions with me, you can expect a space that’s both safe and challenging. I’ll listen with empathy, but I’ll also be direct when it’s time to look at things that might be holding you back. We’ll use practical tools like mindfulness and communication strategies, and we’ll work at a pace that feels manageable for you. My goal is for you to walk away each week feeling understood, but also equipped with something you can apply right away.
What’s one reason you’re passionate about the work you do?
I’m passionate about this work because I know how deeply our mental and physical health are connected. In addition to being a therapist, I’ve taught fitness and worked in healthcare, so I’ve seen the power of breath, movement, and emotional strength. Helping people find both resilience and self-acceptance is something that feels incredibly meaningful to me.
