Therapy for kids, teens & young adults navigating trauma, identity & emotional overwhelm.

Warm, honest support to help you (or your child) feel more grounded, connected, and understood.

Let’s Start Here

You’re trying your best, but it still feels like too much. Maybe your child is shutting down or melting down, and you’re at a loss for how to help. Maybe you're a teen or young adult, overwhelmed by everything—grief, identity, school, relationships, expectations. You might not have the words for what you’re feeling, only the sense that you’re stuck, exhausted, or constantly bracing for impact. Whether you’ve been navigating trauma, struggling with self-worth, or masking just to get by, you want to feel more grounded, more connected, and more like yourself. You want to believe that life can feel less heavy—and you don’t want to do it alone.

What would you say to someone who’s nervous or unsure about starting therapy?

Hi, I'm Erin Luquette, and I'm a therapist at Tides Mental Health. If you’re nervous about therapy, I want you to know you don’t have to have it all figured out. You can start wherever you are—confused, guarded, unsure. Therapy doesn’t have to be fast, or polished. We can go at your pace. My job isn’t to fix you—it’s to create a space where you feel safe enough to show up fully as yourself, without needing to translate your experience.

What It’s Like to Work Together

In therapy, I offer a warm, honest, and collaborative space to help you (or your child) explore what’s not working and why. Together, we build tools to regulate big emotions, set boundaries, and communicate with more clarity and confidence. I integrate evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT with somatic and trauma-informed approaches rooted in polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and inner parts work. That means we don’t just talk about the past—we pay attention to your nervous system, your relationships, and how you move through the world today. Whether we’re unpacking identity, learning to ride emotional waves, or just making space to be seen, I’ll meet you where you are, without judgment

What can clients expect it to feel like in a session with you?

Sessions with me are real, human, and never performative. I’ll meet you with warmth, but also honesty. I’m not afraid to challenge you—gently— when needed. Sometimes we’ll focus on building skills and structure; other times we’ll hold space to feel or reflect. Either way, I’ll move at your pace, and together we’ll shape a space that feels safe, empowering, and uniquely yours.

What’s one reason you’re passionate about the work you do?

I do this work because I’ve seen how powerful it is when someone finally feels seen—without needing to shrink or explain themselves. As a queer, nonbinary person, I know what it’s like to navigate spaces that weren’t made for you. Therapy can be different. It can be liberating. And I love walking alongside people as they reclaim their voice and their truth
