Let’s Start Here
You’ve been carrying a quiet heaviness—maybe for weeks, maybe for years. It might be grief that lingers longer than people expect, or the kind of self- doubt that seeps into your relationships, work, or sense of purpose. You’ve tried to stay strong, push through, or distract yourself—but lately, it’s been harder to pretend everything’s fine. Whether you're becoming a parent, navigating a new chapter in life, or just trying to feel like yourself again, you’re looking for a space where it’s safe to feel, process, and begin to hea
What would you say to someone who’s nervous or unsure about starting therapy?
Hi, I’m Sarah Haskins, a therapist here at Tides Mental Health. If you're
feeling hesitant or unsure about therapy, you’re not alone. Starting therapy
can feel vulnerable—especially if you’re used to managing things on your
own. But my role is to meet you where you are. We’ll move at your pace,
and create a space that feels safe and supportive. You don’t have to have it
all figured out to begin.

What It’s Like to Work Together
In therapy, I offer a warm and collaborative space to help you make sense of what you’re going through. My work centers around helping you explore the stories you’ve been telling yourself—about your worth, your relationships, and your path—and rewriting the ones that no longer serve you. I draw from narrative and existential approaches, weaving in practical tools from CBT and emotionally focused work. Whether we’re building coping strategies, unpacking old patterns, or just creating space for your grief, my goal is to help you feel more grounded and empowered in your own life.
What can clients expect it to feel like in a session with you?
In a session with me, you can expect warmth, acceptance, and honest reflection. I’m here to listen deeply, offer insights, and help you make sense of your experience. Whether we’re talking through a recent stressor or unpacking something deeper, our time together is your space to be seen and supported—without judgment.
What’s one reason you’re passionate about the work you do?
I believe every person’s story matters. I’m passionate about this work because I’ve seen how powerful it is when someone feels truly seen and heard. Supporting people as they make sense of their experiences and reclaim their voice—it’s meaningful, and it’s a privilege I don’t take lightly.
